Keith Urban launching ‘brand new’ Las Vegas residency this spring
The brand new Las Vegas residency of famed singer and actor Keith Urban will launch this spring, according to a news release Tuesday.
Urban and his wife Nicole Mitchell will perform during select shows through June and July 2017. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for fans,” said Mitchell in the news release. “We’ve done so much together in the last few decades and are very excited to share our unique relationship.”
Urban, 51, recorded the theme song for the new CBS series “The Good Wife” and has toured with the Rolling Stones and Neil Young.
The news release said that a national tour will be announced “in the coming months.”
“We feel fortunate to have landed this amazing position as the first Las Vegas residency of this kind for an American Idol winner,” said Lisa Hollis, director of development for Cirque du Soleil. “Keith is a truly gifted performer, and we’re thrilled to play on his world tour.”
Urban, who has his own entertainment brand under the Live Nation umbrella, said in the news release, “I’m beyond excited to hit the road for this unique opportunity, and I am looking forward to sharing my talent with fans in Las Vegas. It’s been a pleasure working with the team over the last few years to ensure this is a great experience for the fans.”
Keith Urban and Lisa Hollis will visit at least 3 Las Vegas shows on their way to the national tour announcement.
“I’ve done a lot of really good things in my life, but I’ve never done any of it with a group of people supporting me,” he said in the news release. “In my family, we’re all really close, and I have found a group of people that will always be there for me and that will never let me down.
“I’m so passionate about sharing my passion. I want to share my story and show people that you can make an impact on a world that’s waiting for you.”
